We spent Thanksgiving with Warren and his awesome family! Hal is a year old and such a cutie. Christmas will be at our house this year... This will be the first year since Andy and I've been married that we will be in Texas for Christmas... His family is coming down, so it should be tons of fun!

From one "kid" to another... This place is great! Carter, Gianna, Andy, Uncle Ben, and I all went to Natural Bridge Wildlife Park. We drove through the safari of amazing animals and Carter loved petting the goats. Fun times!

Some of the animals made themselves right at home in our car. The zebras wanted to ride with us, but we didn't have enough room.

Gianna has two new teeth, and she loves to stick her tongue out and make silly faces.

If it were up to Carter, he would have gotten out of the car and played with the animals all on his own... No fear at all.

Papa came by the other day, and Gianna just loved it. Both kids love their Papa Ron. Grandma and Papa Jack will be coming in a couple of days... more fun and attention!

Gianna has been standing and walking around for a little over a month now. She has to hold on to things, but she is incredibly mobile. She crawls like a racecar driver... Whoa girl... slow down!

Minnesota Fun!!!

We just got back from an amazing 4 week trip to Minnesota! We hiked, swam, slid down mountains, dove into Lake Superior, kayaked, shopped, ate, and relaxed... it was wonderful! We got to spend loads of time with Grandma and Papa Hasbrouck, Ben, Jared, and other family and friends. We took over 900 pictures, and these are just a few of our favorites! The one above is of us at waterfalls near Lake Superior.

Our beautiful little princess! She learned how to crawl one day before she turned 5 months. She can now get anywhere she wants. Uh Oh... here we go!

Me and my little guy! He is so precious! Carter is able to recite all of his ABC's, count, sing lots of songs, tell us all about dinosaurs, fishing, safari animals, and knock-knock jokes!

Gianna was SO wide awake and alert this evening. She even smiled a little at her family.

What in the world is that????? Both our kids look a little confused, but I'm not exactly sure why?

Hello everyone! My name is Gianna Marie. I am very happy to be here and meet you. I was born on March 1st and weighed 6lbs. 8 oz. My mom and dad say I am such a blessing. I think they're pretty cool too.

That's my awesome big brother and our puppy, Lola. They were watching Daddy clean the windows. Carter is quite the escape artist... He thought he'd make a run for it, but we caught him.

That's me and my Grandma Jan... She smooched me a lot.

This is my Papa Jack. They helped out all week... My mom says she couldn't have done it without them... I agree... they were pretty great!

Don't worry... Papa Jack says he and Carter have this fire under control. It just looks a little crazy!

Carter is still trying to get used to me... He wasn't so sure about me at first... but I think he is warming up to me... maybe not in this picture, though :)

We just got home from the hospital... FINALLY! We had to be there 3 days to make sure Mama was OK... She kind of had a rough time after I was born... but thank God, we all made it home together!

Papa Carter got me a really cool tire swing for my birthday! My mom hung it up in one of our trees in our backyard. I wasn't so sure about it at first, but now I LOVE it!!!

Angels and Blessings

Sylvia Carter was an angel here on earth, and now she is an angel up in Heaven. She was my hero and inspiration, and her life touched so many. My heart breaks knowing that my children will not be able to play with her or feel her embrace, but her memory and stories of her amazing life will forever live on. They will know her, and she will continue to inspire. I love you more than words, Mama.

Our little boy is 2 years old!!!! We can't believe it! He is such a little stinker... amazing with a very strong personality! I have no idea where he gets that from. Elmo is definitely one of his BFF's! Carter will officially be a big brother in a little over a month. Hasbrouck baby #2 is due in early March! Holy Smokes!!!!!

This is after a HUGE piece of birthday cake... The sugar kicked in quick, and his shirt was one of the casualties!!

We took him to the Austin Zoo to celebrate his birthday, and he absolutely loved it! His favorite part, by far, was being able to feed the goats and sheep. Baaaaaaa! Oh yeah... we live in Round Rock now... We're both teaching, and we bought our dream home. God is good!

My mom and dad went on a vacation to the beach in Port Aransas. I got to play with Grandma and Grandpa the whole time!!! They said they finally got to relax... I'm not sure why they can't do that when I'm around.

Swimming is my favorite activity in the world! I got these awesome floaties which means I can swim anywhere I want and my parents can't do anything about it.

This is me, my mom, my future girlfriend Demi and her mom Alison. They've known each other since they were our age.

My friend Nico and I went crazy in the bath. Nobody says you can't have fun and get clean at the same time!

Holla... Ernie and I just wanted to say hi! We LOVE eating and staying healthy! May has been a pretty great month. My parents are super pumped, because they are ALMOST done with school for the year. They finish up on June 4th and couldn't be more excited!

I am paying my respects to our brave soldiers at our church on Memorial Day. It was pretty cool!

Oh my gosh... I am so excited!!!! We are back at the magic water spout place again!!!! Best place EVER!!!!!

I kept trying to grab the water, but it was a bit too slippery.

Now I'm trying to step on it!!!!

Phew! I've been playing so hard, I just needed a little break!

That's me and Uncle Ben. We had so much fun together. He read me tons of books and chased me all over the park by our house. Fun times!!!

Mom and Dad took me to the most amazing place in the world, the park in the middle of our town mall. Water just comes shooting out of the ground and I can run and play as much as I want. I didn't care that the water was ice cold... I found it exhilarating!!!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Easter!

I'm so happy today! My church has this really pretty blooming cross and all the families take pictures in front of it! Smiles for everyone!

My grandma got me this awesome Easter basket... I couldn't quite remember if I was supposed to put the eggs inside or take them out and put them back on the ground... Oh well... it was fun anyway!

My daddy was really good at finding the eggs... He's my hero!

See dad... now I've got it!!!

My mom, dad, grandpa and I all went and partied at the beach for Spring break a couple of weeks ago... It was AWESOME!!! Apparently... you're not supposed to eat the sand... but I found it rather tasty!!!!

My grandpa is so cool... He took me surfing... I wiped out a little later, but it was totally worth it... I caught some major waves!!!

The past few weeks have been very busy. Both Andy and I have had lots of meetings and school activities to attend, and we can't wait for Spring Break in just two weeks. We'll be heading down to the Austin and San Antonio area and are really looking forward to seeing friends and family.
Andy's parents were in town a couple of weeks ago and we had a great time seeing them. Of course, as you can see by the pictures, they didn't get much of a break from the snowy weather... What a crazy winter this has been! We are more than ready for some warm sunny weather... I'm getting pastier by the minute :)

That's my mom and dad all dressed up for New Year's. Grandma and Grandpa Carter took care of me so my parents could go out on a date... They said they had lots of fun!

This is my UT monkey and I also got a University of Minnesota dinosaur robot... My daddy's friend, Tim, got me this super cool Puma sweat suit... Fun times!!!

This is my new play house. Mom and dad got it for me... its great when I want to play or when I just need a little private time!

My mom and dad went snow shoeing in MN. They had lots of fun, but it took them about 30 minutes to get all of their winter clothes on... They look pretty silly to me, but they were very warm.

Carter is sooooo close to walking. He can stand really easily on his own, so we are just waiting for him to build up his courage to take his first step!

He has 4 teeth now... two on the bottom and two on the top... So cute!

Jellyfish at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. Andy and I spent 3 days in Port Aransas, so we got a chance to visit Corpus and see lots of cool things.

The beach was amazing... such a nice getaway. The weather was so great that we actually got to spend all of Monday laying out and playing in the water... Andy and I were like a couple of kids! It was so much fun!

I'm all smiles!!!

Just mom and I hanging out. I love to stand and move around. I pull myself up and walk around all day. Mom and dad say they can't keep up with me, but I think its just because they're getting old.

Aren't we handsome! Go Gophers! They won their first game in their new stadium... it wasn't pretty, but a win is a win... right dad??? Plus, the Longhorns won their game too... Mama says she can't watch the Horns play, because she turns into a crazy person and she doesn't want me to see that side of her...

Basically, Carter is super cool! He is so active and fun. He really is hard to keep up with, but he makes us laugh non stop! Brenda, Mom and Dad came up Labor Day weekend, and we got to see Lisa's family as well. It was a lot of fun to hang out with everyone.

We had to fill out our first daycare accident report this past week... Carter climbed on the toy box, and the lid popped him in the lip... He was a trooper, though, and terribly cute with his puffy mouth. He's all boy, that's for sure!

School is going well for Andy and I, and we feel blessed everyday. God bless all of you and hope you're all great!

Back to school we go!

Andy and I have been in teacher in-service for the past week and a half, and we start classes Monday! (Andy's actually been doing coaching stuff for a few weeks now.) I think we are both looking forward to seeing our new students and getting the year underway, despite the fact that the summer just flew by.

Carter has readjusted to daycare pretty easily, but I don't think they were expecting or ready for what they got when he returned. They tell me everyday how fast and far he crawls. (He's like lightning) He likes to visit kids in various classrooms, and the other teachers welcome him with open arms :) They say he finds his way in and out of all kinds of spaces, and they think he is so funny... a complete handful... but really funny.

It has been tough not seeing him throughout the day, but it definitely gives us something to look forward to...

Ooooppppsss... got to go... Carter somehow found a way out of the barricade I put up for him... What a little stinker! CARTER... COME BACK HERE!!! :):):)

Carter is crawling everywhere now... we put up pillow barracades, but he just looks at us and laughs and then crawls right over them... What a boy!

Beautiful picture of the Canadian Lake the boys went to. They spent 4 days there and did nothing but fish and enjoy the great outdoors. It rained a lot, but they ate well and got to act like men... Grrrrrrrrr :)

Summer has flown by, but it has been such a blast! The last part of our break was spent with friends and family. Andy went on a fishing trip to Canada with the men in his family, and I went to Seguin and Austin to see my parents and close friends. Carter was incredible and had a great time with everyone. He swam a lot with his friend Nico and at his Auntie Brenda's house. My mom and dad LOVED having him, and he gave them lots and lots of smiles. All in all this was a fantastic summer!

Andy and I were able to get away for a couple of days to the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior... It was such a nice time. We thought it was a bit weird at first not having to unload two dogs and carry a baby, but we managed to adjust pretty quickly :) We got home to Carter as soon as possible though.

Hey guys... sorry it's been so long. Andy, Carter, and I were on a 3 1/2 week vacation. We started out in Arkansas at my family reunion. I haven't been to one in over 10 years, and it was a lot of fun! Carter got to meet lots of family and he and his sweet cousin Sullivan really hit it off. Her mom and dad generously gave us a place to stay and we were very relieved that they didn't kick us out after our two dogs decided to mark their territory all over their living room floor... Toby and Ally, if you are reading this... again, sorry and thank you! :):):)

Next, we made it up to Minnesota where we spent the majority of the time at Andy's parent's lake house. It is so beautiful up there. We got to see friends and lots of family and had a really great time. We spent the 4th of July with Andy's aunt and uncle and their kids, and Carter met even more of his little cousins... It was really fun to see all the kids playing together, although Andy's brother, Ben, and his grown cousin, Steve, were quite entertaining as well... Just think family style Mixed Marshall Arts between two thirty-something year old men...

We spent many long and gloriously lazy days at the lake, enjoying the mild weather and cold water. Though we had to get back to the blazing heat of Texas, we are glad to be home and are looking forward to the rest of our summer vacation. We have about 4 1/2 more weeks to soak it all in.

I've known Alison and Dee Dee since 1st grade and Courtney since my freshmen year in college. These babies are going to be life-long friends whether they like it or not... and NO, this was NOT planned!!!!

This is a pretty recent picture of our pond. Andy and I dug and built it last year, not knowing that we had a stone quarry in our backyard. Our rose bush is now in full bloom, and we plan to install a rock border around the whole thing to finish it off.

What a WONDERFUL start to our summer!!!

Andy, Carter, and I went to Seguin to see lots of family and friends! We were able to have a fabulous, yet tad chaotic dinner with 3 of my closest friends, along with their husbands and babies, all of whom were born within months of one another. It was so much fun, and I would like to commend the staff at Trudy's in South Austin for putting up with 7 brand new parents and their 4 infants... THANK YOU!!! At one point 3 out of the 4 babies were crying all at the same time... Carter seemed to sleep through it all... Moms and Dads were up and bouncing around the whole restaurant, dozens of pictures were being taken, and I'm pretty sure our table was the only one that thought the whole thing was in any way cute... but I guarantee you it was :)

We also got to see Great Grandma Geri, and Carter put on quite a show of smiles and acrobatics the whole time for her to oooh and ahhh over... It was so much fun!

Of course, my mom and dad and family all loved his visit, and I think they even enjoyed mine and Andy's company as well :) Carter had his first swim ever at Brenda's on Sunday and absolutely loved it. He got to meet all kinds of family, in addition to a little cousin just a month younger. It was such a blast, and our summer has just begun!

Warren got hitched!!! Yep... my little brother tied the knot in a beautiful beach wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The Barcelo Maya resort was amazing, the weather perfect, and the overall experience was wonderful! He and Caroline make a beautiful couple, and everyone had a great time!

I did cry like a baby when I had to leave Carter, but he and Andy had a really nice man's weekend, and he was full of smiles when they picked me up from the airport. It was a great vacation, but even more wonderful returning to see my husband and baby boy's handsome faces.

We have less than a week and a half left of school, and I couldn't be more excited! Andy and I definitely have Teacheritis, and we are counting down the days. This summer will be so much fun hanging out and traveling with Carter. We plan to visit Seguin, Arkansas, and Minnesota this summer, so we'll be making the rounds for sure.

Men's Weekend!

This weekend it's just me and Carter. We took Trish to the airport early Friday morning. She flew to Mexico for her brother Warren's wedding outside of Playa Del Carmen. There were lots of tears from momma as she kissed her boy goodbye. It is the first time she has been away from him for more than 6 hours or so. She'll be back Sunday evening. This means that it's just the guys for the weekend.

I took Carter to the doctor Friday morning for his 4 month check up. He is very healthy and strong at 26 1/2 inches long and 14 lbs 15 oz. He loves to flirt with any lady who smiles at him and the nurses were no exception. I was nervous about him getting his shots because the last time he got them he cried most of the day. Trish and I spent that day taking turns rocking him. I was wondering how I would handle that situation on my own... but the little guy saved his daddy by being perfect after the shots. He cried hard for a few minutes but once I got him in his car seat he fell asleep. He slept on and off throughout the day and when he was up he was very sweet. He even talked to his grandma and grandpa in Minnesota. He also talked to his Great Grandma Jean this morning. He can't wait to meet her this summer.

Today we went grocery shopping. He had fun riding in the cart and looking at all the people. A lady in line told me that I was a brave dad but I assured her that he makes it very easy. Oh yeah, when Trish gets home we will be starting Carter on rice cereal. I'm very interested to see how he takes to eating from a spoon. In a few weeks we'll be able to see if he likes bananas as much as his daddy!

Hola!

Today is Mother's Day... my first of many, and it was so nice and relaxing. Andy and Carter woke me up with the sweetest letters and gifts; we had a lovely time at church and a very low-key afternoon, just spending time together as a family. Andy plans to continue pampering me by making me dinner tonight... I'm one lucky lady, that's for sure!

Andy's parents were in town last weekend, and we had a great time. Grandpa Jack hadn't seen Carter since he was 3 weeks old... Holy smokes has he changed! He's grown so much and has such a sweet personality... Life with Carter is like the Discovery Channel... we all learn something new everyday.

Thank you for your conitnued prayers for my mom. Though the cancer has returned, it has not spread, and she is able to go to my brothers wedding!!! She is so awesome... She told me today that she bought all new make-up and two new dresses and can't wait to get down there and MAMBO!!!! She'll out dance us all I'm sure! Plus, after a second opinion from MD Anderson, it looks like she and my dad won't have to move, as she can continue getting quality treatment in Seguin! So... your prayers are working... THANK YOU!

Hey y'all! How's it going? Our little Carter is getting bigger by the second. Andy took him to the doctor for a little cold and he weighs 13lbs. 8oz. He's such a big boy and changing everyday. He's so alert and happy and smiles and talks all the time. The ladies at the daycare tell me that he loves getting in their conversations :) He's very strong and quite the flirt... he loves to smile at the ladies... We'll have to keep an eye on him when he gets older :)

Andy and I are great! 5 more weeks til' summer... Woooo Hoooo!!! This is the time of the year when the countdown really begins, and we are totally looking forward to some quality time off with family and friends.

Thank you for your continued prayers for my mom. She is meeting with MD Anderson on the 30th, so we'll know more then. She will be able to go to my brother's wedding at the end of May, so that is wonderful news. We are all looking forward to it.

This was Carter's first week in daycare, and he did great!!! I,of course, cried like a baby... no offense Carter... on the first day, but I've gotten a lot better :) The ladies at the nursery are super sweet, and they all seem to love our little boy... even though he's already peed on them twice :) Silly Carter... we'll have to work on that.

He's growing like crazy and smiling all the time... but it is so hard getting a picture of it, because he focuses on the camera every time we try. He is a very happy baby, however, and we are so blessed. There is also another little blessing in the world as our friends Alison and Grady had a beautiful little girl on Thursday named Demi.

For those of you who know my mom, you know how amazing she is. She has been bravely battling breast and lung cancer now for almost 2 years. She was in remission for the past 3 months, but it appears the cancer has returned to her lungs... worse than ever. She and my dad are seriously considering selling their home in Seguin and moving to Houston to get better care at MD Anderson. As you can imagine, this is causing added stress to an already terribly stressful situation. So... I have a BIG favor to ask... please PRAY! Please pray that the doctors find a way to help my mom. Please pray that if she and my dad decide to move to Houston, that they are able to sell their home and find a new place to live quickly and without too much drama. Please pray for a permanent cure. God bless you all...

This was my first week back to work after a wonderful 8 weeks off with Carter. I miss him terribly while at school, but luckily my parents were here this week to look after him. He loved it!!!! Andy's mom will be here next week to watch him, and he'll love that as well. Getting back to teaching has been a bit of an adjustment, as these were brand new students for me, but I'm getting back into the swing of things. There are only 9 weeks left of the school year (not that I'm counting :) and then Andy and I will be off for the summer... Yaaayyyy!!!! We are very blessed and are truly enjoying life. What a wonderful week it has been... Carter just loves his Uncle Ben and has had a great time with him. He also really loved hanging out with his Hasbrouck and Bryant family in Austin... Great Grandma Geri, Aunt Jane and Uncle Craig, as well as cousins Zac and Jef. He's been very active, taking long walks at White Rock Lake in Dallas and Town Lake in Austin... oh, I'm sorry... I mean Lady Bird Johnson Lake :) Plus... Carter got to meet his first girlfriend, Miss Helia Askew... unfortunately, he was in a milk-coma and slept through their first date. She's adorable, though, and he's looking forward to seeing her again. Of course, he'll have another girlfriend in a couple of weeks when Alison and Grady have their little girl. Lucky guy!!! He met our friends Christine and Nathan as well, and all of this has happened within the past few days!!!! Phew... he's a busy guy :)

The big news is this... Carter is a very healthy, handsome and huge little baby!!!! We went to the doctor this morning for his 2 month check-up, and this little guy has grown 4 inches taller and weighs nearly 6 pounds more than when he was born 7 1/2 weeks ago!!!! Amazing!!!! He is not happy at all today, because he had to have 3 shots and an oral immunization! He is very sore and extremely cranky, but we tried to explain to him that this is all to keep him healthy.... there seem to be some minor communication issues, but we're working through it. He is finally sleeping and hopefully he'll feel better once he wakes up... Poor thing...

Overall, though, we are great! We hope all of you are just as wonderful!!! Hope you enjoy the pics as well!

Carter has grown so much over the past week or so... he's pretty much a man now :) He met his uncle Jared last weekend and he just loved him, and Andy and I had a great time too. He gets to meet his other uncle Ben this weekend. We're all looking forward to his visit, as he's never been down here before. Ben currently lives in Fargo, ND... yes people do actually live up there... somehow, so he's in for a heat wave when he gets down here, although any temperature in the positives would be considered a heat wave :)

Carter is very alert these days and you can tell he is absorbing everything. Plus, he's turned into quite the little oinker... he eats constantly. I have a week and a half left at home with him... which makes me incredibly sad to think I'll be leaving him soon, but thankfully my mom will be here the first week I go back to work to give us a nice transition phase. After that, Andy's mom may come up for a week but then its off to daycare. Luckily, its only 2 minutes from where I work, so I can check in on him with no problem. I'm sure the employees will just love that ;)

We plan to be in Austin for a few days next week to show Carter off to the Hasbrouck clan, so he'll be making even more memories. Plus, my friend Courtney Askew and her husband, Bill, just welcomed their baby girl Helia Sophia into the world on the 3rd of March... so we are really looking forward to meeting her as well!

Last weekend our new little family took a trip to Trisha's hometown of Seguin. It was Carter's first trip to his grandparents. We had a great time although it flew by. Friday was a success since it was the little guys first real car trip. He was in the car for almost 5 hours and he hardly made a sound. Our new roadtrip set up is me driving the two dogs sleeping in the passenger seat and Trisha and Carter in the back. Thankfully the dogs are as good in the car as Carter is or we would have our hands full.

On Saturday, the little guy got to spend time with his grandparents and he also got to meet his Aunt Brenda. He will never lack for love and attention! The reason we went down was for Trisha's friend Alison's baby shower. She is having a girl in April. Carter got to meet some new friends, like 4 year old Hudson Leonard and Nic and DeeDee's son Nico, who is 7 weeks older than Carter. I'm sure these two will be spending a lot more time together in the future.

We headed back to Cedar Hill on Sunday morning and made a stop in good old Austin to see Courtney and Bill who are having a girl any day now. It was nice to spend a little time back in Austin, even if it was for only an hour. Their house is beautiful and we had a good time.

Wednesday our friend Tricia Jennings came by with her two little boys. The ladies had lunch and the boys got some male bonding time. There are some adorable pictures of the three of them together. I know Trish really enjoyed some adult time to break up her day.

This week has been very hectic and like every other week since we've had Carter, has been flying by. This weekend will be the first we've had alone since his birth as well. As much as we really enjoy being around family, it sure will be nice to get a little time as just the three of us. Jared will be here next week and then Ben the following week. Carter really loves having hands on him so he'll enjoy their company.

The grandparents were in town for a wonderful time and special baby dedication ceremony at our church this past weekend. Andy's parents arrived Thursday and stayed til' Monday, and we had a really nice visit. Jan could hardly keep here hands off the baby but honestly, who could blame her :) Jack loved playing with his new grandson, and Carter loved meeting his Minnesota family. My mom and dad came into town, along with my brother Warren, for Carter's baby dedication at our church. Later that day, my dad took us all out to lunch where we gorged ourselves on an obsene amount of pizza and nearly went into a food coma... good times!

I think he's getting tired of the flashes! Little Carter sat (slept) through his first church service today. He was great... and of course was a hit afterwards. People keep telling me, "just wait," when I talk about how good he's been, but we'll see. He has been a great little guy so far. We are hoping to do his baby dedication at church next Sunday since my folks will be here. That will be very cool if we can do it.

He is starting to get into a habit of sleeping all evening and then not being very tired when we go to bed. I think we're gonna have to try to fix that but I hate to wake him up when he is sleeping so peacefully. I had another explosive mess to deal with today when I attempted to change him a little prematurely:) Let's just say I don't think I will be drying off with that towel ever again!

Carter had his first doctor's appointment yesterday and received a superb evaluation...basically, he's perfect :) Seriously, though, he's already grown half an inch and he left the hospital at 6lbs. 7oz. and now weighs 6lbs. 15oz. which is great! I mean he's our kid, so eating definitely isn't a problem! He was so brave when they took his blood... He let out two cries and then went back to sleep while they administered the rest of the test... What a trooper.
Andy and I are adjusting well, and my parents have been a big help. We are so blessed.
Please pray for our friends Alison Fox and Tricia Jennings. Alison is dealing with Gestational Diabetes and Tricia Jennings' baby is in the hospital with a really bad case of the flu. The more good thoughts and prayers the better!

He sure is a happy baby. He has his first checkup tomorrow morning and it will be his first day without his daddy home. It will be difficult to focus on work when I have this face waiting for me.

Girls Galore...

Once again, in other baby news... girls are everywhere! Trisha's niece, Stevi and her husband Eddie, welcomed their second little girl to the world about 2 weeks ago! Our friends, Courtney Askew and Ali Fox-Dahlberg are also both expecting little girls in March and April. It is a wonderful and exciting time for everyone, so please keep all of these new babies and babies-to-be in your prayers.

Another Boy

My friend Trevor Wetterling and his wife Tricia, who live in Denver, had a beautiful little boy named Jake this week. He was born three days after Carter. Congrats! My cousin Kate and husband Mitch in Phoenix have a little boy named Carsten and our friends Nic and DeeDee in Austin recently had a sweet little boy named Nico. Carter is 6 days old and already is piling up the friends.

No... I'm not talking about Winnie... I'm talking about the attack of the projectile poo! Oh yes, my friends... it will definitely catch you off guard!
Andy was changing a simple little wet diaper... He was finishing up the wiping process when from out of nowhere a huge explosion occured. Our precious little angel managed to find a way to spew his poo on his nursery wall, the dresser and his daddy's shirt... all at the same time!!! It was incredible... He then proceeded to finish off the big event with a dramatic pee to his face! I think I nearly ruptured my C-section stitches by laughing so hard... but poor little Carter did not seem to see the humor in it just yet... I'm sure he will later when I re-tell the story to his first girlfriend :)
Its only been 5 days, and I can't imagine mine and Andy's life without him.

It's a Boy!

On January 24th, 2009, Carter Jack Hasbrouck was born. Since we didn't find out ahead of time if he would be a boy or a girl, it was a wonderful surprise when he came out. I screamed, "It's a boy!" and Trisha looked at me in disbelief. Apparently, the sound of the heartbeat is not as good of an indicator as many nurses thought. He was born 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long. So far, he has been a great little baby. Not a whole lot of crying and he's a great sleeper at night. He spends a lot of time opening and closing his eyes and using his little facial muscles to make as many faces as possible. I am home this week so I am soaking in as much baby time as possible before I have to go back to work. I will try to keep the site updated as frequently as possible. Enjoy!
